Out of the way down a country lane away from that mad world! Beautiful place to escape and forget about everyday life. Thank you Alma and family.

We have just returned from an amazing week at Duck's Cottage and have nothing but good things to say. The cream tea and bread, milk and butter on arrival were fantastic and much needed after a long drive . Apart from clothes and toiletries you do not need anything else. The cottage is equipped with everything you could possibly need for a week away and more. There is a dishwasher- (tablets provided) washing machine and tumble dryer which are so handy. There are board games, DVDs and books. You name it, and it's there. Thank you so much to Alma and family for everything!

Ducks Cottage is the ideal place to stay if you want friendly independent owners and lovely accommodation. We would highly recommend this place - and will be returning as soon as we can. Alma, Tim and her family could not have been more welcoming or helpful. Everything you need in an ideal location. Dog friendly too!

‘The cottage was very clean and well equipped’
A lovely cream tea provided by Alma for our arrival, as well as bread, butter and milk, for which we thank her, and for her kindly and friendly welcome. After a 5 hour drive it was all very welcome. There were some lovely walks directly from the cottage, much enjoyed by ourselves and our dogs. The holiday was postponed from June because of the Covid outbreak, and we thought the weather wouldn't be so good at the end of September, but it was kind to us and we only had one days' rain. Just managed to get back to Wales in time for the next lockdown - now not allowed to leave Wales and venture into England again without good reason.

“The owners were incredibly helpful and welcoming, the house was one of the best equipped of the many we have stayed in; and the setting of the house was beautiful.”
Plenty of lovely places to explore locally. I highly recommend a visit to Duck's Cottage!
- Mrs Sutton, July 2020
This is a superb property. From our arrival and the super scones, cream and jam the owners left us we have had a wonderful time. The cottage has 3 good bedrooms, one en-suite, and 2 family bathrooms. The kitchen is superbly fitted as are all bathrooms. Great lounge / dinning room with a great enclosed garden , very handy if, like us you have a very active dog. The surrounding area is lovely, plenty to do with Marlborough being one of the nicest towns I have visited. Do go to Pewsey and visit Marshall’s bakery, it’s great, try the Lardy cakes, you will need to go early as they sell out fast, just delicious. For the anglers amongst you try Pewsey wharf, full of fish and for £5 a day great value. Please, if you are contemplating visiting this area do consider staying at Duck cottage, it’s fantastic as are the owners.

“FANTASTIC HOLIDAY COTTAGE - 'A REAL GEM’”
We've just returned from a one week holiday with our little dogs at Ducks Cottage and can't praise it enough. My husband couldn't find one single fault with it (and that's saying something!!) The cottage is even better than the photos depict and the owners are warm, welcoming and friendly. We 'cottage holiday' at least 4 times a year and this one has surpassed all others. It was very clean, well equipped with everything we could need. The furniture and furnishings were of excellent quality and the provisions supplied were gratefully received. The garden is truly 'pet secure' and even our little Bichon (an escapologist) couldn't disappear!! We were exceptionally fortunate with the weather and the area is full of interesting this to see. The nearby canal, Crofton Beam Engine, the White Horse, and Avesbury to name a few. Alternatively you can rest in the peaceful and tranquil surroundings. I would regard this as the best holiday we've had in a long time.

“We rented the cottage for a 4 night stay over the New Year period.”
On arrival we were greeted by the owner & his daughter who were so friendly & welcoming. As befits the time of year it was cold & wet outsidebut the property was so warm & welcoming with a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. They kindly provided fresh scones, jam & clotted cream as well as milk & bread - very welcome! The decor was to a very high standard with good quality bedding & bath sheets. We have stayed in cottages where the towels etc provided left much to be desired! Fantastic walks straight from the cottage, my exuberant Springer Spaniel didn't have to go on the lead once so he had a great break too. I have rented holiday cottages annually for the last 12 years & this is the best by far.

“From the moment we arrived it was obvious that Duck's Cottage was one of the BEST holiday cottages we have stayed in, in England.”
Fresh, warm scones on arrival and a lovely welcome from the owners. My Mum-in-law was delighted to have a downstairs bedroom and shower room. We all loved the open plan feel and views open countryside. We spent a lot of time just relaxing at the cottage, walking over the fields and pottering in nearby Marlborough. We were staying down in Wiltshire to see family and will definitely book Duck's Cottage again in preference to a B&B or hotel!

“This is a comfortable and well equipped cottage in a peaceful location.”
The owners gave us a warm welcome. There is a good network of foot paths & bridle paths direct from the cottage in all directions and there are some excellent pubs/restaurants in the vicinity.

“Just came back from a new year stay at Ducks cottage.”
3 couples, 2 dogs! Everything we could have wanted in a cottage. Super clean, spacious and great location. Fresh eggs, milk, bread and butter awaited us on arrival. Also some lovely home made mince pies, made by the owners' son - very much appreciated with a cup of tea! We have been going away together for more than 10 years and have stayed in numerous cottages and this was one of the best. Friendly helpful owners. Nothing too much trouble. Would highly recommend.

“Beautiful 3 bedroom cottage set in the lovely little hamlet of Charlton St Peters in the Wiltshire countryside.”
Cottage was home from home very clean and comfortable. The owners were very welcoming and left us a welcome gift of eggs, bread, milk and freshly made scones and clotted cream which was a nice touch, The entire cottage was modern and warm and there was plenty of room for a party of six. Lovely enclosed garden which meant the dogs could not escape and lots of lovely walks in the area..

“Lovely cottage with three good size bedrooms and three bathrooms (one en suite).”
Plenty of private parking for three cars. On arrival there was lovely homemade scones, jam and clotted cream, bread, butter, eggs, tea and coffee. Owners very friendly and helpful with ideas for places to eat and visit. I would definitely recommend it. Nice quiet location.

“Warmest of welcomes from Alma with fresh produce including eggs from the farm awaiting and scones baked not a couple of hours before our arrival.”
And fresh flowers! Spotless clean and comfortable cottage with every convenience imaginable. We visited the orphaned lambs in the shed each day and whilst quiet and secluded there was the feeling of a working farm. Lovely quiet part of Wiltshire but within easy reach of the canal, lovely walks, Avebury, Salisbury,Stourhead, Lacock and more. Great holiday.

“This is a lovely cottage which was perfect for our family Easter weekend break with our dogs.”
Had a lovely by the owners who had also made fresh scones, jam and cream, and left fresh bread and milk. Plenty of good walks and lovely pubs not to far away. The cottage is also well equipped and spacious. Will definitely return in the near future.

“This is the best cottage we have ever stayed in, It is home from home in so many ways.”
The design has been carefully thought through and it is extremely well equipped. The bed is comfortable and the bathrooms are excellent. It is also a easy house to keep clean ( if you know what I mean ). The garden is totally secure and there are some beautiful walks around the adjoining farm. The owners are really lovely, there if you need them but not at all intrusive, and I have to say that they provide the best welcome pack we have ever seen. Nothing is too much trouble. Would we go back? Yes of course, in fact we have already booked and are looking forward to staying at Ducks Cottage again.
